![]() While what you say is obviously not wrong, it's not the uncertainty principle as used in QM as far as I am aware. This is a common misconception about the the uncertainty principle. Look around you, everything you see you can't tell exactly where it is. If we move it every time we try to observe, we'll never know where it was to begin with! That means that when it comes down to the tiniest things in the universe, we can never tell where they are because even if we discover smaller and smaller particles we'll still never be able to observe them without moving them in the process. Well if we hit the small particle we'll move it. So in order to observe a small particle we throw another small particle at it and see if it bounces. What happens when you bounce two things that are the same size together (soccer balls, cars etc?) They move. Now these particles are both the smallest thing out there, so they're the same size. We should choose the smallest thing we can, so we choose another small particle. Now if we want to see that small particle we need to bounce something off of it. That tiniest thing that all other matter is built from (you don't really have to know if it's a proton, electron, quark or whatever just that it's the smallest). Lets want to observe the smallest particle out there. So, generally, in order to observe something you need to 'bounce' something else off of it. An electron microscope works by bouncing electrons off tiny things and measure how they bounce. ![]() If I was in a dark room and wanted to see if there was a person there I could throw a dodgeball if it goes straight then there is no one there, if it bounces off them then I know there is a person there. When you see something, what you're 'seeing' is light bouncing off an object right? You can see where it is. Here's how the uncertainty principle was explained to me: If you find certain comments or submissions here offensive, the best way to address it is with more speech. ![]() ![]() Try that in conjunction with the “mode” and/or the “auto frameskip” settings. ![]() But others get a performance boost.Īs a last resort, (this will give folks reliant on perfect performance nightmares) if you don’t mind lower fps in favor of getting to play a game at all. This will make some games crap out completely, graphically. While it makes most games slower, certain types of games get a performance boost. :Pįor games with 2D sprites like fighting games, try this: These changes will be saved automagically. ![]() Then open the settings menu and open the graphics tab. For now, what about the games that still don’t perform well?įirst, create a config file for your game from the PPSSPP pause menu. Some games perform really well and can get some upgrades, more about that later. Once you have the above default settings, you can start launching games and testing their performance. My interest was getting the games to run, then tweaking them from there, so moving on… Turning Antiscopic filtering off completely will cause more jagged edges and tearing, but it by far seemed to make the largest difference to performance. The changes above that make the most difference are the Antiscopic filtering, and the settings the mention speed or performance in the UI. ![]() (Leave what’s not mentioned here at their default settings.) Mode = buffered rendering Next start with these settings for every game. These will stay the same for every game, and make a very noticeable difference in audio, as well as overall performance. I haven’t used the libretro version out of performance concerns, but the standalone version allows you create configs for each game via the “pause menu” (hit esc).īefore creating your first config file, lets make some changes to the default settings to get a good starting point for all games, you can tweak each one from there to get better performance. But the next part seems to have much more dramatic effects from game to game, and is less risky to your hardware for obvious reasons.Ĭreate config files per game in PPSSPP. Especially for games that were just barely too slow or had choppy audio. On my xbox360 controller, I used the right thumb button. This does two things makes the config setup process easier, and will allow you to exit games without a keyboard. assign new pause menu button to an unused button on your controller Apparently, they’re about the highest (on average) that can be used relatively safely, without extensive hardware mods.ģ. I got these settings from a post on the official Raspberry Pi forums talking about overclocking. (Read: Tested and know that it provides a clean 2 Amps.) At the end of boot/config.txt, I changed what was there to this: gpu_mem_256=128 Seriously, don’t do this unless you have a heatsink with a fan plus a really good power supply. (I’m using the word “healthy” liberally here, this will probably void any warranty that you might have on the pi.) This is beyond what the default overclock settings will allow. So leaving autosave off seems to help with speed issues. Saving seems to slow games down, sometimes quite a bit. I’ve got a Pi 2 with the 3.3 Jessie image.įirst, when you start a game, turn off autosave. But there is something you can do.ĭisclaimer: My testing has been almost entirely subjective, except for some initial fooling around with the FPS meter to determine some good general settings. It looks like only about 30% of games work at all, and the ones that do can be pretty slow. I’ve been doing a bunch of testing on PPSSPP. ![]() ![]() We currently ship to the United States, including APO and FPO addresses, Canada, US Virgin Islands, Guam, and Puerto Rico. If, upon import, you only tell Lightroom Classic to generate Minimal or Embedded previews, Lightroom Classic creates Standard and 1:1 previews automatically as you’re working in the application. ![]() To display and work with photos, Lightroom Classic requires a standard or 1:1 preview, depending on the task. Any time you zoom to 1:1 or higher in the Library module, Lightroom Classic uses 1:1 previews. Because so much data is being processed, 1:1 previews can take a significant amount of time to create. When Lightroom Classic generates 1:1 previews, it also generates minimal and standard previews, so all three are available to the program as needed. Standard previews are used in Filmstrip and Grid view thumbnails, as well as in preview and content areas of the Slideshow, Print, and Web modules.ġ:1: These previews are a 100% view of actual pixels and, like Standard previews, the Camera Raw engine processes them. You can specify the size of the Standard preview you need, based on the display you use. So, they sometimes appear different from minimal or embedded previews, especially if you have applied adjustments in the Develop module. They use the Camera Raw engine for processing. Standard: Lightroom Classic creates standard previews. The Filmstrip and Grid view of the Library module uses minimal previews temporarily, until Lightroom renders standard-size previews for those thumbnails.Įmbedded & Sidecar: These previews are larger, also camera-generated, and they take a little longer to create than minimal previews. They are the fastest type of preview to create. Minimal: These previews are the small, low-resolution JPEG previews embedded in the photos, which the camera generates. When you import photos, you can choose from three types of previews of progressively higher quality: Lightroom Classic uses previews to display photo thumbnails in the Grid view, the Loupe view, and in the Slideshow, Print, and Web modules. Different camera manufacturers convert the digital signal into the colors in your image in slightly different ways. The relative strengths of the current generated by the red, green, and blue light-detecting sub-pixels are what's used to calculate what color and how bright any given pixel in your image should be.
