Having a block that you can physically interact with and use without the incorporation of GUIs or interfaces allows the player's immersion to stay focused on the block they are using and the world around it, instead of a single screen. Instead, they're simply opening up an interface. As a result, their focus on the game's world becomes hindered - they no longer feel like they are physically interacting with the block they are using. Opening a GUI or interface in general ends up removing the player from the world and brings their attention to one screen. Apart from the fact that the original tile entities we had were simply Furnace rehashes, I felt that there was a bit of a design flaw with many of the Minecraft tile entities, which in turn hindered the player's experience and immersion with the game. Right now a core concept we're trying to follow for these redesigns is the use of "pure interaction" with objects in the world, rather than a GUI or interface. As of now, the Enchanter has been replaced with a new block called the "Altar", and the Freezer is also getting a complete overhaul sometime in the near future.
